Town collection — Mint Hill runs its own program, and the contract is one cart. Mint Hill is not on Charlotte's curbside program. The town contracted Waste Pro for residential collection, and the limits on that page are the town's. The town writes: “Pick up is provided once a week and contracted for a maximum of 1 roll-out container (provided by the town).” That is one container on a weekly pickup. It is not two carts, and it is not an on-demand truck.

A separate rule on the same page is weight and set-out time. The town puts it this way: “Garbage and yard waste should be placed at the curb by 7:00 am and weigh no more than 75 pounds per pickup.” Seventy-five pounds is the cap per pickup, for garbage and yard waste placed at the curb. It is not 75 pounds per container.

How the garbage sits in that one cart, in the town's words: “Garbage only should be placed in the roll-out containers.” Yard waste is a different stream. Bagging is a preference, not a condition of pickup. The town writes: “For a more sanitary service, garbage should be bagged, but not required.”

Appliances are not the weekly cart. The town writes: “Appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers) will be picked up if prearranged by contacting Waste Pro.” That is a scheduled pickup with the town's contractor. This page names the mechanism and does not print that contractor's phone number. If the item is ordinary town collection, use the town. You do not need us for that job. If it will not fit those rules, or you want it carried out of the house rather than staged at the curb, that is the private-hauler job on this page.

What the town truck will not take — a named refusal list, not a volume limit. Mint Hill's collection is not a catch-all. The printed list also names batteries, carpet, oil or other petroleum products, and wood blocks. That is the town's list, reported straight.

The yard-waste ceiling — and what the town says happens above it. Mint Hill publishes an exact, measurable limit for limbs and brush, then states the consequence in its own words. First, that stream is not mixed into the garbage cart. The town writes: “Limbs and brush should be separated from other waste.”

Piece size is a separate rule from pile size. Mint Hill puts it this way: “These should be left not more than five feet in length and not over six inches in diameter.” These is the limbs and brush just named, not bagged leaves and not the pile as a whole.

How much of that separated brush may sit at the curb is a third rule — one pile, with dimensions, once a week. The town writes: “Never place more than one pile of limbs or brush, approximately four feet high by four feet wide and five feet in length, at the curb each week.”

Then the town states the consequence, without a hedge: “If yard waste exceeds these specifications, no service will be provided.” That is the town's rule, not a 704junk sales line. Some readers will cut the brush smaller and stay on the town truck, and that is a correct outcome. If the pile is past those specifications and staying that way, the town has said it will not come. A private hauler is one remaining option, and hauling it yourself to a county facility is another.
