Town collection — Pineville runs its own program, and bulky pickup is booked, not automatic. Pineville is not on Charlotte's curbside program. The town contracted Waste Pro for residential solid waste, and Public Works is specific about what that covers. The town writes: “The town pays for two carts for each household.” Extra carts are on the resident, not the town.

Pickup is a set day, not an on-demand truck. Public Works describes the weekly trash and yard-debris day as “trash/yard debris picked up each Wednesday” — recycle is a different, every-other-Wednesday schedule, and this page does not pretend they are the same. How the trash has to sit, in the town's words: “All trash must be bagged and placed in the roll out container.”

A sofa, a fridge, a mattress is not the Wednesday cart. The town writes: “Bulky items must be scheduled with Waste Pro.” Overflow is the same rule, not a second program. Public Works puts it this way: “If your trash exceeds the size of your cart, you should call this in as well.” If the item is ordinary bulky the town will take, that scheduled Waste Pro pickup is the job. You do not need us for it. If it will not fit those rules, or you want it carried out of the house rather than staged at the curb, that is the private-hauler job on this page.

What the town truck will not take — construction debris is a refusal, not a volume limit. Public Works does not hedge this. The town writes: “Absolutely no construction debris can be picked up.” That sentence sits in the same run of rules as the bulky-scheduling rule; it is not an exception you talk your way around on Wednesday.

The town then says why some of this sits outside any waste provider's truck: “Some items are banned from landfills which waste providers are prohibited from collecting.” Public Works introduces its own list with: “The following is a list of the items that cannot be picked up” — construction debris; TVs, computers and related electronic equipment; tires, paint, and all batteries; automotive fluids; pool chemicals; and, spelled as the town spells it, “Florescent Bulbs & Tubes”.

Where the town sends that list: Public Works writes, “These items can be taken directly to the Fox Hole Recycling Center”. Fox Hole is named here because the town names it. A Pineville address is not Pineville service. This is the line that costs us a job when it is true. Public Works writes: “Some subdivisions near Pineville have Pineville addresses but are not technically within the town’s boundaries.” Those subdivisions, the town says, “are not entitled to garbage service through the Town of Pineville.”

That is the town talking, not a 704junk map. A mailing address can read Pineville and still sit in unincorporated Mecklenburg County, with no town truck. The town names five: Cardinal Woods, Danby, Woodside Falls, Winghurst, and Bridlestone. If you are inside town limits, ordinary bulky the town will take should be scheduled with Waste Pro. You do not need us for that pickup.
